** It is strongly suggested that players register early as teams and divisions have been filling up for the last few seasons. Once teams or divisions are full, the only option for signing up is the Guest List. Details about the Guest List can be found on the FAQ Page. **
Open Division
Who: Women ages 18+
What: Winter 2025 Indoor Soccer
Where: Effingham YMCA (Portsmouth, VA)
When: Sundays, January – March
Time: TBD
Format: 5v5 *
*may change depending on registration numbers
Details: You may register as an individual and get assigned to a team, you may register with a few friends as reciprocal requests, OR you may submit a full team roster. Any player who registers after Team Formation will not be guaranteed placement with the team of their choosing. The Team Formation meeting will be held TBD.
There will be a $3 processing fee charged for all refunds.
Over 30 Division
Who: Women ages 30+
What: Winter 2025 Indoor Soccer

Details: Details: You may register as an individual and get assigned to a team OR you may have five reciprocal requests, for a total group of six players requesting to play on the same team. Any player who registers after Team Formation will not be guaranteed placement with the team of their choosing. The Team Formation meeting will be held TBD.

Low Impact (40+) Division
Who: Women ages 40+
What: Winter 2025 Indoor Soccer

Details: You may register as an individual and get assigned to a team, OR you may have two reciprocal requests, for a total group of three players requesting to play on the same team. If you have a new player to bring to TWSL, they can join your reciprocal of three for a group of four. Any player who registers after Team Formation will not be guaranteed placement with their reciprocal requests. The Team Formation meeting will be held TBD. There will be a $3 processing fee charged for all refunds.
COST
The cost for playing in the Open, O30, or O40 division is $90. If you are eligible to play in two, the cost is $160 for both divisions. The price to play in all three divisions is $240. The price of all divisions will increase to $100, $180, and $270 respectively after teams have been formed..
*Players will also need to purchase player’s insurance from MDCVSA prior to registering to play with TWSL. The current cost of player’s insurance is $20 for a year.

Steps to Register
- Fill out the liability waiver with MDCVSA here. You will receive a separate invoice from TWSL (via PayPal) for your annual MDCVSA liability insurance ($20 annually). This fee must be paid once per calendar year. Players cannot be placed on a roster without having paid this fee.

FAQ
Does TWSL offer discounts?
If you serve as a Team Representative (TR), you will receive a $10 discount on your next registration. Responsibilities include: coordinating your team each week, sending reminder emails and obtaining head counts for each game, requesting guest players as needed, relaying league information as needed, acting as team captain on game days. Attendance at the team formation meeting is not required. TR responsibilities will be emailed to all TRs prior to the start of each season and an acknowledgement of responsibilities via email will be required. Not fulfilling the responsibilities of the position could result in removal from the position and loss of discount.
Current TWSL players can receive a $15 discount for each new player they refer to TWSL. The new player will need to register for a division and list the referencing player’s name in order for the discount to be earned. Discounts will take effect the following season. *New players are players who have never played in TWSL before
What is MDCVSA?
Metropolitan DC-Virginia Soccer Association, Inc. (MDCVSA) is the state-level organizing body for adult amateur soccer in Virginia and the District of Columbia. The MDCVSA is not a league. It is a member of the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and the United States Soccer Federation, Inc. (USSF), which is affiliated with FIFA. Affiliated teams have insurance coverage for league play and when they play in other affiliated competitions anywhere in the United States. Each registered player will be considered an affiliate player with MDCVSA. This allows players to participate in area tournaments. In order for TWSL to be an affiliate member of MDCVSA and a fully sanctioned league, all players must purchase the player insurance through MDCVSA. This insurance can act as your primary if you do not have insurance or as a secondary if you do have insurance. The fiscal year for the insurance is January 1st through December 31st. The current cost of player’s insurance is $20
Do I have to purchase player's insurance before each season?
No! The fiscal year for player’s insurance is January 1st – December 31st. You only have to pay for insurance once a year, prior to your first season of the year with TWSL.
Where are the games played?
The game locations can vary season to season. All of our games are typically played in the Hampton Roads area. Currently, Our indoor and outdoor games are played in the Western Branch area of Chesapeake. The location, dates, and times will be announced when registration opens for each specific season
What if I can't commit to a whole season?
We have a guest list you can register for! This list is used to provide additional players for teams that are short on game day. Guest players are not guaranteed to play during the season. Guest players will be charged $48 at the time of registration, giving each guest list player a bank of credits to be used throughout the season at $12/game. Please see the Guest Player Policy document at the bottom of this web page for more details.
If I have to drop from a team what is the refund policy?
Refunds will be approved for the current season, as long as the Registrar is notified before games have started, less a $3 processing fee. After games have started, refunds will be issued less a $20.00 service fee through the first week of play. Refunds will not be approved after the first week of play.
How long are the seasons?
The outdoor seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall) are about 10 weeks long. The indoor season is about 8 weeks long.
